The Home and School Association was formed for the purpose of:

§    Providing a means for effective communication among parents, educational leaders, pastor and students.

§    Promoting mutual understanding between parents and teachers of educational objectives and contributing social factors significant in the learning process.

§    Serving as a fund-raising organization for the purpose of carrying out projects for the school as determined by the Executive Committee. (Home-School funds are used primarily for textbooks, supplies, care and upkeep of copy machine, and special purpose funds)

All parents are members of the St. Mary’s Home and School Association, which plays a vital role in the yearly operation of the school. We always think of ourselves as sponsoring and assisting in fundraising activities for the benefit of the school. Home & School also promotes a quality Catholic Education for our students.

To continue being successful, we need help from all of you! There are many activities that take place each year. If you would be able to help with any of these events, please let one of the Home and School Association officers know.

During the past year, the Home and School Association purchased text and workbooks, Weekly Reader subscriptions for each classroom, ITBS testing and scoring supplies totaling approximately $3,800.  We were able to make a step forward in our classroom technology spending $10,200 to purchase 20 new laptop computers for daily work by our students.  The laptops will be paid off this year.  We continue to pay for the copier maintenance agreement and supplies at an approximate cost of $1,500.  We are delighted to be able to help the teachers with items for their classrooms and present the 6th grade graduates with personalized bibles every year.

These are just a few of the items that are purchased on a yearly basis. As needs arise, they are brought to the meetings and discussed. Meetings are normally held the third Monday of each month. We encourage you to attend these monthly meetings so we can have the benefit of your input on these issues. Your children know that the class with the most representation at the meeting will be given a reward, so come meet some new friends and support our school.

Remember…Many hands make light work!
